Star Entertainment set to represent 'Kabzaa' worldwide: a 125 cr budget Action Film

Period underworld flick Kabzaa, which sees R Chandru and Upendra unite, is one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2022. What makes is even more special is the addition of Kichcha Sudeep (Huchcha, Kempe Gowda) to this multilingual pan Indian film.

Upendra, a name that needs no introduction in South India, is the lead star

and plays the role of a powerful underworld don from the 1980s.

Upendra’s last film 'I Love You', also directed by R Chandru hit the marquee last year running in box offices for a lengthy 50 days. The film reportedly went on to collect Rs 95 million in Theatres, a triumph for a mid-pandemic release.

Kabzaa's storyline is set in the underworld, and will follow the exploits of an underworld don who reigned over South India a few decades ago. This pan-Indian project is Chandru’s most ambitious to date, featuring an ensemble cast which includes names likes Kiccha Sudeep, Shriya Saran, Rahul Dev, Jagapathi Babu, Anup Revanna, Kabir Duhan Singh, Pradeep Rawat, Danish Akhtar Saifi and more.

"Sudeep plays Bhargava Bakshi in the film. His character will be a treat for everyone. If we consider Kabzaa to be the crown, then Sudeep sir's character is the diamond that enhances the film," shares Chandru.

Shriya Saran, casted as a Queen named Madhumathi, took to her official Instagram handle on March 7, 2022, to reveal the grand news to her 3.1 million + fans.

The poster gave royal vibes as the Drishyam actor is seen dressed up in a queen attire. She is seen wearing a red coloured heavy bridal lehenga with a zari work all over it, the outfit is paired with heavy jewellery. The actor wrote in the caption, "Kabzaa is an action movie set in the 1970s. This movie depicts the journey of a brutal gangster in Indian history ever revealed."

The period drama about an underworld don is the filmmaker’s most ambitious project to date. It will be created in several Indian Languages, including Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil, and it will be dubbed and released in Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, and Oriya.

Kabzaa will also be distributed worldwide, exclusively by Star Entertainment. Given the anticipation and big names backing this project, pre sales have commenced for Indian territories.
